Punch & Crunch is Alpha Krav Maga Wisconsin's answer to traditional cardio & fitness training. Combining basic strikes utilized in our Krav Maga program, with light weights, kettlebells, and core strengthening exercises, this program helps with building a strong body, while still learning basic, but also valuable fighting techniques.
Although Krav Maga is an intense workout itself, it was specifically designed with personal protection and being able to overwhelm an attacker (or multiple) with fast defenses and brutal counterattacks. Punch & Crunch is designed with conditioning and exercise in mind. Yes, we will use and hone some of the same skills learned in Krav Maga, but you will not be working with multiple attackers or defenses- this is fitness focused.
More effective than a traditional kickboxing class, Punch & Crunch is taught by people who know how to properly and effectively throw punches and kicks for self-defense and personal protection purposes. Although this course is designed with fitness in mind, being taught to properly throw a punch or kick minimizes risk of injury, while maximizing effectiveness, in the event these skills need to be used for self-defense.
Anyone who is looking to get in shape, break a hard sweat or take their cardio conditioning up a level- this is the perfect program for you. It is also a great way to meet new people and learn some new skills all while getting fit.
Since you will be striking pads (as opposed to people), the only equipment needed is: Lightweight boxing/grappling gloves (4/6oz), wrestling/boxing shoes (or any low-traction, indoor-only shoes), workout clothing, hydration, a towel, and the will to push yourself to become stronger.
